General Terms and Conditions of Participation in Campus Party Europe
In order to access Campus Party Europe 2010, you must accept the following terms and conditions without restrictions.
Asociación E3 Futura (From here on also FUTURA and the Organization), promoter of the event Campus Party Europe 2010 (from here on also the Event), can modify totally or partially the present terms and conditions, if the circumstances oblige it.
Nevertheless, said changes or modifications will be notified through publication in the FAQ/ Legal Bases section on the official Campus Party (www.campus-party.eu) and/or by email to those persons registered.
If for any reason, the terms and conditions are not acceptable to you, you should terminate your registration in the event Campus Party Europe 2010 here.
This document is accessible at all times on the Official Web for Campus Party Europe (www.campus-party.eu) and can be printed and saved by you.
1- Admission
All persons 18 years and over can participate (as of the opening date of the event) with any nationality pertaining to the 27 member states of the European Union that comply with the requirements of the Organization and expressly accept the present general terms and conditions of participation.
2.- Limited places
The places for participating in Campus Party Europe 2010 are limited: 800. The places will be assigned by the Organization by invitation only. Said invitation can be requested by filling out the form for this www.campus-party.eu. The 10 finalists selected from the projects participating in the MICINN Challenge will also obtain an invitation. Participation in said challenge will be by filling out the form for this in www.campus-party.eu
3.- Verification of
Once the form has been completed, sent and the validity of the code verified, the applicant must verify that his/her data is correct in the User File.
4.- Personal Identification
The participants should have a means of personal identification, with a recent photograph, such as a valid ID card or passport, with which they can identify themselves whenever a member of the Organizations asks them to. Lack of a form of ID, the same as not wearing the Event Credential will mean the participant’s expulsion from the Event. Photocopies are not permitted, only original documents. Special circumstances such as forgetfulness, etc will not be contemplated for accessing the Event area without original and valid documents.
5.- Right of Admission
Futura Interactiva, SL reserves the right of admission of the requests for participation in the Event, in compliance with the applicable legislation to this effect.
6.- Participants’ Rights
The participant has a right to:
- Entrance to the authorized zones of the enclosure by credential on the days the Event is programmed, which is to say, from the opening on April 14th 2010 until the end of the event at 14:00 on 18th April.
- Participation in the programmed activities, subject to general and particular conditions which determine on behalf of the Organization for each of the activities.
- A place in the camping zone (if requested on the registration form) and access to the facilities provided (showers, wash basins, etc) 24 hours a day.
- Access to the Campus Future zone in the times programmed by the Organization.
- Catering Service (breakfast, lunch and dinner) from thursday April 15th until Saturday April 17th. On Wednesday April 14th only dinner will be served and on Sunday April 18th only breakfast will be offered.
- Only one registration per person is allowed. Registrations must be named and change of person on a registration is not allowed.
7. – Exemption of Responsibility
The Organization is committed to adopting the necessary measures for control and security necessary for compliance with the applicable legislations for this. However, the Organization is not responsible for thefts or robbery or materials or any other personal items, whether they are consumables, non-consumables or any other type, of the participants of the Event, and therefore, recommend that you do not leave your personal items unwatched at anytime during the event.
The Organization is not responsible for the contents that the users my upload/download from the Internet or that they may exchange between themselves or third parties outside of the Event, being these of whatever nature. Each participant is responsible for the use he makes of the network infrastructure that the Organization puts at the Event’s service. The Organization, in this sense, demands respect for the Laws on Intellectual Property valid at the time of the event.
In the same way the Organization will not be responsible for the network failures that may happen during the Event.
The Organization will not be responsible at any time for any damage that the equipment may suffer during the Event, whatever the technical cause of said damage. We recommend that the participants not connect multi plugs in suboptimum state, fans or heaters, microwaves, lights, recorders or other peripheral apparatuses, etc that may cause power cuts to the electrical installation and damage to the personal equipment of the participants, which will not be responsibility of the Organization under any concept. The Organization will be able to oblige any participant who does do any of the above, to stop doing so immediately, and reserves the right to impose sanctions on those disobeying these rules in tune with the severity of the infraction.
In this sense, The organization is not liable for damages that may be caused to the participants, be they direct or indirect, in the event that through no fault of their own, ie, provided that all force majeure, public safety or the assumptions underlying any decision from any body, whether it be administrative or judicial, the Organization would find it necessary to suspend the Event. In that case the Organization will find a new date for the Event once the problem has been solved.
8.- Activities
During the Event the Organization will have programmed a series of activities, conferences, workshops and presentations that the participants will have access to without additional cost. Said activities will be programmed on a general level as well as by themed area.
Futura Interactiva, SL reserves the right to cancel, modify, or alter any of the activities, workshops, shows, competitions, courses or conferences to be carried out during Campus Party Europe 2010. Any cancellations, changes or alterations in the programmed activities will be communicated through the official Web for the Event.
9.- Rules of actions
9.1- Credentials
To access the Event, the user must be correctly registered in the Campus Party Europe 2010 Data Base and be accredited by the Organization. The credential will be delivered at the Credentials and Information posts habilitated for this. The user is responsible for looking after said credential, protect it and not fold it. It is obligatory that the credential be worn and visible at all times. Access to the centre is strictly prohibited without the corresponding credential.
9.2- Access to the Event
On April 14th, at the time announced on www.campus-party.eu by the Organization, the doors will be opened to Campus Party Europe 2010. Access will be carried out from this time on throughout the whole day and following days until the end of the Event. The Event contents will not begin until the morning of 15th April.
9.3- Personal Identification
Together with the credential, participants in the Event will have to have a method of personal identification, be it an ID Card or valid Passport, which will be required when collecting the credential for the Event. It is obligatory to have the credential visible at all times in all parts of Campus Party Europe 2010, Computer Zone, Camping Zone, Campus Future Zone and Entertainment, and any other made for this purpose.
No user will be given access to the Event if the data on his/her credential does not correspond to the data on his/her ID Card or Passport. He/She will not be allowed to remain at the Event in this case.
9.4- Computer Identification
Only one computer per user is permitted into the Event enclosure. TWO stickers will be provided with the user data to stick on to the CPU and the Monitor respectively, if the user brings those pieces of hardware to the Event. If the user brings a PORTABLE/LAPTOP only ONE sticker will be provided which must be stuck to the portable computer. IT IS OBLIGATORY TO LABEL THEM ON ONCE THE COMPUTER IS INSTALLED AND SHOULD REMAIN SO FOR THE DURATION OF THE EVENT. In the case of loss or deterioration of the sticker(s), the user must go to the Credentials and Information posts.
Computers can be taken out of the enclosure only when the sticker on said computer coincides with the credential of the participant. If said coincidence does not exist or the computer does not have said sticker(s) in place, the participant owner of the same must present an invoice that proves the computer belongs to that participant and includes serial number for the computer, or in the absence of this, wait until the last day when all the other computers have left (CPUs, monitors, portables, consoles, etc) of all the other participants and no one has presented a reclamation for a lost computer. If for any reason the user needs to replace a piece (monitor, CPU, console), it must be notified to the Credentials staff immediately, presenting the invoice or receipt of the repair or new piece, so that a new sticker may be provided. If the new piece does not have its corresponding sticker it will not be allowed to leave the enclosure.
9.5- General Security Rules, Ecological Protection and Public Health
For Security, ecological protection of the enclosures and public health reasons, the Organization and participants in Campus Party Europe 2010, impose the following rules.
- If a person does not comply with any of the prohibitions they will put their own security and that of others at risk, they will be responsible for the consequences that may be produced, and may be expelled from the Event.
- The consumption or selling of alcohol, tobacco, psychotropic substances and any other illegal substance within the enclosure of the Event is strictly prohibited. Non-compliance with this rule is considered a serious offence and may be sanctioned with expulsion from the Event. Non-alcoholic beverages are allowed as long as they are not in glass containers.
- It is prohibited to eat anything in the computer zone that does not come from the Event’s catering service and all those must be consumed in the dining area. The only food allowed in the computer zone are those foods considered snacks. Everything to be thrown away must be put in the bins supplied by the Organization.
- It is prohibited to use roller skates, skate boards, bicycles, motorbikes and any other form of motor or electrical vehicles inside the Event enclosure. As an exception to these rules the general needs and movement of disabled persons is contemplated.
- Entrance with flammable objects such as camping-gas, lumi-gas, candles, torches, flares, arms, fireworks, sprays, barbecues, or making a fire of any type is strictly prohibited within the Event enclosure as well as the entrance of microwaves, kitchen utensils, etc.
- It is prohibited to place signs, contents, symbols, emblems or slogans that incite any type of violence (racist, sexist, religious, moral, etc.) or behaviour of a racist nature.
- Medication. For participants in medical treatment or have allergies, diabetes or any other illness that requires these services, the Organization has arranged cold storage for medicines, please let the Organization know in advance by mail to crm@campus-party.eu specifying in the subject “CP Europe medical necessities). There will also be a medical service available for any emergency.
9.6- Misdemeanour and Sanctions
Any participant who does not comply with the rules of Behaviour, the General Terms and Conditions of the Event and any other rules imposed by the Organization, before or during the Event for its correct celebration, will have to assume the corresponding sanctions.
The sanctions will be classified in light and severe. Not all punishable attitudes are described here therefore the Organization will use alternative criteria and impose other types of sanction depending on the misdemeanour, its repetitiveness, or entity of the same.
LIGHT MISDEMEANOURS
The Organization will classify these at its discretion, for example:
- Annoy someone verbally within the Campus Party Europe 2010 enclosure.
- Inappropriate use of loudspeakers, only individual headphone use is allowed, as well as inappropriate use of megaphones or musical instruments.
- Use or possession of non permitted objects, considered so by the Organization or the Law.
Light misdemeanours will be treated depending on the entity and the misdemeanour in question and its repetitiveness being punished by periods of incommunication (temporary bans) with the rest of the network: 1 Light Misdemeanour, 2 hours; 2 Light Misdemeanours, 12 hours:
- The accumulation of 3 Light Misdemeanours becomes a Serious Misdemeanour, depending on the nature of the Light Misdemeanours this maybe sanctioned with expulsion from the Event.
Serious Misdemeanours
Not all the punishable attitudes classed as Serious are listed here, the Organization is able to adopt alternative criteria and sanction attitudes of the participants as Serious depending on the misdemeanour, the repetitiveness or the entity of the same. The Serious Misdemeanours will be classified at the Organization’s discretion, such as:
- Serious and/or repeated disobedience of the Rules established by the Organization for the correct development of the Event, as well as the recommendations and instructions of its workers.
- Consumption and selling of tobacco and/or alcohol, as well as the sale and/or consumptions of illegal substances within the enclosure of Event Campus Party Europe 2010.
- Facilitate ones own credential to another person (participant or not).
- Wear another participant’s credential.
- Not show the credential when a member of the Organization and/or Security team requires it.
- Not open a package to show its contents when required by a member of the Organization and/or Security team.
- Trying to access without authorization and/or negative attacks on the (DoS) service on the Servers owned by the Organization.
- Initiate a dispute, fight or participate in one.
- Incorrect use of the bathroom facilities.
- Aggression against the bathroom facilities or any other service for use by the participants.
- Possession of flammable or sharp objects, knives, etc within the Campus Party Europe 2010 enclosure.
- Physical aggression against another person within the Campus Party Europe 2010 enclosure.
- Illicit acts or violation of third party rights.
- Exhibition of signs, contents, symbols, emblems or slogans that incite any type of violence (racist, sexist, religious, moral, etc) or behaviour of a racist nature.
Serious Misdemeanours will be sanctioned with expulsion from the Event without prejudice to any legal action that may be carried out by the Organization. When the misdemeanours are constitutive of a crime, the fact and the identity of the offending participant will be communicated to the corresponding police authority.
In conclusion, in the case of a misdemeanour or the non-compliance of a rule reflected in the previous list, the Organization will take the necessary steps in each particular case.
9.7- Security and Illegal
Campus Party has a Security company that assures the safety of the participants. There will be security guards inside the Event enclosure spread out between the zones of Campus Party. Even though this service exists, the Organization will not be responsible for thefts and robberies of materials or any other personal items, whether these are consumable or not or of any other type belonging to the participants of the Event. Therefore, the Organization recommends that you do not leave any of your belongings unwatched at any time from the beginning to the end of the Event.
Also, the Organization is not responsible for the contents the Users may download or may exchange between each other, being these of whatever nature. Each participant will be responsible for the use he/she gives the infrastructure that the Organization puts at the Event’s service. The user must assure compliance with the valid guidelines in Intellectual Property as specified by the Spanish Legislation and does not commit a crime. The Organization will not supervise nor control the traffic on the network; each user must use it in a responsible way.
The control on taking equipment out of the enclosure will stop on Sunday 18th April 2010 at 14:00. From this moment on, each person is responsible for their own computer and should not leave it unwatched, as there will not be a control on exit.
10.- Protection of personal data
Futura Interactiva S.L. guarantees the security and confidentiality of the personal data facilitated by its clients, and therefore, in compliance with that established in the Ley Orgáinica 15/1999, of Personal Data Protection (LOPD) and in the guidelines developed and the Royal Decree 1720/2007, of 21st December, the client/user is informed and gives his/her consent to his/her personal data being included in the automated files that exist in Futura Interactive and to the automated treatment of the same, including those to which this company has access as a consequence of its navigation on this web page, with the finality of sending communications, commercialization of products and services, maintenance of its contractual relationship and management with Futura Interactiva, with the object of adapting our challenges and demand for professional services to its particular characteristics. The receivers of said data will be demanded services by the clients of Futura Interactiva S.L.
This Personal Data is being treated and incorporated into the corresponding automated files, which are correctly registered in the General Registry of Data Protection.
CONSENT
The use of the site www.campus-party.eu and any of the services that are incorporate in it, imply accepting the conditions that are manifested in the present Privacy Policy and in accepting each challenge. For this, you, the User, manifests that you have read, understand and accept the same in their totality and are therefore bound by the same.
STRUCTURE OF FILES
With the objective of complying with the current legislation, the terms of the present Privacy Policy, will be applied to all the files belonging to Futura Interactiva that contain data of personal nature, as well as any equipment or system of information that treats them, being property of Futura Interactiva or any other third party that uses them. The privacy policy of Futura Interactiva assures you, in all cases, the exercise of the rights of access, rectification, cancelation, information on evaluations and oppositions, in the terms established in the current legislation. For this, and in compliance with that established in the Ley Orgánica 15/1999, for Protection of Data of a Personal Nature (LOPD) and in the guidelines for development, Futura Interactiva guarantees the adoption of the measures necessary to assure the confidential treatment of said data and will inform you of the possibility of exercising, in compliance with said guidelines, the rights of access, rectification, cancelation and opposition, in writing to Futura Interactiva S.L. C/ Aduana 33, 28013 Madrid. Futura Interactiva reserves the right to modify the content of the Privacy Policy with the objective of adapting it to the new legislation or jurisprudence, as well as those that could derive from codes of existing type in the material or, in this case, by corporate strategic decisions.
